Assembly Hosts Israeli Delegation
Tbilisi city Assembly chairman Zaal Samadashvili together with "National Movement" Faction members hosted Israeli delegation. The delegation was composed of: responsible person for Georgian-Jews World Congress ─ Maia Boterashvili, Ashdod City Vice Mayor ─ Moshe Boterashvili, Georgian Culture Centre Director ─ Irma Tsuri (Tsotsishvili), Editor in Chief of Magazine "Ashodelebi" ─ Sulo Sepiashvili and envoy of Georgian culture in Israel, poet, journalist, founder of Georgian thatre in Ashdod city ─ Nana Shabatashvili.
The meeting was held upon the initiative of guests. According To
Z. Samadashvili, today's events aims at deepening multi century Georgian-Jewish friendship.
"The meeting serves for deepening of our historical relations. We have discussed future plans and priority directions in the sphere of education and culture" stated Assembly Chairman.
The visit presents a part of project realized by cinema studio "Kartuli Pilmi" and Georgian-Jews World Congress. The film narrates about 26 century long Georgian-Jews relations.
"We do our best to maintain little Georgia in Israel. The fact that Georgian Theatre exists in Israel and that we sing lullaby "Iav Nana" is a result of
your permanent warmth. No weapon could destroy the love our friendship is based on. We thank everybody who warmly received us and took to heart our pain and happiness" emphasized Nana Shabatashvili.
At the end of the meeting, parts presented symbolic presents to each other.
